My husband Mark and I travelled to South America in Dec'06 after we were married in Perth, Western Australia. Our itinerary
started in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Unfortunately, the weather was less than desirable for our entire stay. We were there for New Year's Eve, so we toasted the new start to 2007 in Brazil! Here are some photos from the famous statue, "Christ the Redeemer" as we looked over the clouds to the city of Rio de Janeiro itself.

Here are some more photos from the top of our little tour to Christ the Redeemer. Keep in mind the weather was cool, rainy and overcast alternating with cloudy! Still wanted to capture what we could with the camera. Our driver spoke very good English, thank goodness! He was from Brazil, but lived in the US when he was a teenager and decided to come back when he was an adult. He missed the simple life in Brazil and decided to raise his family there.

I recently came back from South America. Actually, the week before we had our Adelaide session, I just arrived back from the trip. I plan to blog more about my experience there.

Pam, I was fortunate enough to have gone up the Christ the Redeemer statue when a thick fog covered it, and I couldn't even see the statue itself, and everything else was white! I had to do it the 2nd time around, and by then, it had cleared up, and this is what we saw when it cleared up...
